'This is the place' Charity CD

The choirs of Fair Field, Shenley and Newberries schools recorded a charity CD for Keech Hospice at the beginning of November.  The recorded the song 'This is the place' written by local teenager, Elissa, after she read 'A fault in their stars' and is based on what she thought a hospice should be like for children and young people.  Two other teenagers, Orla and Nick (from Humble Cookie), videoed the recording of the CD which was also available to purchase.   The audio recording was overseen and was edited by James Flavin, a parent volunteer from Fair Field School.

The idea behind the recording is that the young children and teenagers wanted to raise money to help others who are not as fortunate as themselves.  Keech is our local children's hospice and cares for people with a terminal or life limiting illness.  Currently only 1 in 3 are getting the help they need and the children wanted to do something to improve this.

Profits from the sale of the DVD and from a collection held at the Christmas Praise Carol Service of over £200 were donated to Keech Hospice.

A huge thank you to the lady who lives across the green from the church who allowed the children to use her toilet facilities!
